Kicked Out · Act 114 messages

For the first time in your life, you hold a key to a door no one else can open.

Then the door across the hall opens, 2C, and a man in his sixties leans in the doorway wearing a Hawaiian shirt printed with parrots. He idly fans a deck of cards in one hand.

"You must be the new neighbor," he says. "I'm Lou."

How it plays

One turn, four beats.

  1. 01

    The scene lands

Read what your last choice led to. Paydays, bills and rent day arrive on their dates.

  2. 02

    You choose

Pick from the choices on screen. Some only appear because of something you did earlier.

  3. 03

    Risky moves depend on luck

When it is risky, you roll a d20 and your skill adds to it. Fail, and you can spend one of 3 rerolls you get for the whole playthrough, use them wisely.

  4. 04

    Your numbers change

Money, health, stress, skills and relationships change, and they stay changed.

What the game keeps track of.

Money is real money

Rent, bus fare and groceries follow everyday prices modeled on 2026. A night at the movies has to fit in the same budget as the rent.

Time keeps moving

A calendar, weekdays, and weather in °F and °C. Rent day arrives on schedule, ready or not.

Failing keeps the story going

A failed roll doesn't stop the story; it takes it somewhere harder. Some failures cost more than others.

People remember

Help a neighbor or blow off a recruiter, and they remember. What people think of you opens some doors and shuts others.

Luck strikes

Somewhere in your week, luck finds you: a pickpocket on the bus, or a stranger with a favor to ask.

Pick what you're playing for

Choose the goals you want to chase. The story ends when you reach them, when something stops you, or when eight years are up.

Is it for you?

Good fit, bad fit.

It's a good fit if

  • You like reading and want your choices to change what happens
  • You want money, time and health to actually matter
  • You like dice that can go against you
  • You like replaying to see where a different choice leads

It's not for you if

  • You want to type anything and have an AI make up the reply
  • You want tools to make your own stories
  • You want voice acting or to play with friends

FAQ

Common questions.

What is TALEVYR WORLD?

A library of story games for your browser, on a computer or a phone. You read a scene, pick what to do, and the story follows. Act 1 of the first story, Kicked Out, is free to play now.

Is it free?

Act 1 of every story is free. Going past Act 1 takes a paid plan. PENDING: paid plans are not open yet.

Is the story written by AI while I play?

No. Every scene is written ahead of time, so no story text is written by AI while you play. Your choices, the dice and a little luck decide which scenes you see.

Do you use AI to make the game?

Yes. Each story is a collaboration between an author and AI writing tools: the author shapes the world, the characters and where the story goes, and the AI writes the scenes with them. Every scene is then checked, revised and playtested before release. The art is made with AI image tools. No AI runs while you play.

What counts as a message?

Every choice you make in a story. Saving and rolling the die are free. When paid plans open, there will be no top-ups, and if you run out, your place is saved until your subscription renews next month.

Can things go wrong for my character?

Yes. Bad rolls, missed rent and old grudges all push the story somewhere new. You get 3 rerolls for the whole playthrough, use them wisely.

Can I play on my phone?

Yes. It runs in your phone's browser, and you can add it to your home screen to open it like an app.

How many stories are there?

Four to start, one in each route: realistic, fantasy, post-apocalypse and supernatural. The first is Kicked Out, and its Act 1 is free to play now. The other three are currently in development.

Choose a story. Then choose everything else.
